How do you put a bassinet together

Rest one bassinet leg on the floor so the inside edge of the leg assembly is facing up. Insert the four straight rods into the "A" marked slots on the leg. Push the rods into place until they click. Press the other leg onto the rods until they click into place, creating a one-piece assembly. Raise the bassinet frame until it is upright, resting on the wheels. Insert the two curved wires into the top of the bassinet frame, one on each end.

Make sure the curve faces out away from the frame when you install the wires. Insert the cloth basket into the bassinet frame. Snap the straps around the poles in the frame. Secure the upper snaps first, then the lower snaps.

Tie the strings on each end of the basket around the frame poles on the ends. Unfold the support bars beneath the floor support of the bed portion of the bassinet. Adjust the mattress board supports on the support legs so they face inward.

Place the mattress support board onto the mattress supports and line up the holes in the mattress support board with the holes in the mattress board supports. Drive four of the shorter M4 screws through the mattress support board and into the supports underneath. Position the two basket support tubes on the left and right sides of the bassinet between the two left side legs and the two right side legs. Insert an M6 screw through one of the left support legs and into the support tube and screw it into place tightly.

Leave the other end of the tube unsecured. Insert another M6 screw through one of the right support legs and into the support tube. Screw it in tightly. Position the storage basket so the inserts face up, and slide it onto the two unsecured ends of the support tubes. Position the basket evenly along the tubes. Insert the two remaining M6 screws through the remaining support legs and into the support tubes. Tighten them.

Turn the bassinet frame upright. Stretch the hood cover over the hood frame. The hood frame is usually visible beneath the cover. Align any holes or loops on the cover with the knobs, notches or holes on the hood frame. Install the hood frame onto the bassinet. There will be notches, knobs or holes where the hood frame attaches through the liner and into or onto the bassinet.

The hood will rest on the top edge of the head portion of the bassinet. Louise Harding holds a B. Harding is a professional fiction writer.
